There is so much great music out right now. I am buried with lots of new stuff and have been sorting it all out.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs-It's Blitz
Holy moley this is really good. It's like Siouxsie Sioux is singing with Blondie.
Doves-Kingdom of Rust
Finally they rise above mediocrity and do something really nifty.
Pet Shop Boys-Yes
The czars of pop have made a smooth pop record with a different texture then some of their last records. Plus the first reference to Captain Britain in a pop record.
Depeche Mode-Sounds of the Universe
These guys have kind of sucked lately. On this record they have almost redeemed themselves and clawed themselves out of the dumper
Camera Obscura-My Maudlin Career
A wonderfully tight record with Spectorish harmonies, twangy guitars and really terrific melodies.
M. Ward-Hold Time
Wowsers this is shiny and polished. I really like his song writing these days. It isn't as dreary as some of his other stuff.
Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Club Band- As was the case with their previous re-workings of Pink Floyd and Radiohead, The Easy Star All Stars have a go at Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Very Nice.
Also listening to the Depeche Mode and Yeah Yeah Yeahs albums.
Manchester OrchestraMean Everything to Nothing Supporting the locals- they also played Criminal on Record Store Day.
